Having always had long, thick locks; hair extensions had never previously been something that I took an interest in… until now.
I recently had the urge to get the chop and I jumped on the bob trend. Sat in the hair dressers, the stylist couldn’t believe how much length I wanted cut off….”Are you sure?” she said as she hesitated to pick up the scissors, “Yes just do it!” I squirmed. My after thoughts? I actually loved it. It was bouncy and it had life… happy customer right?. Until of course, I went on a night out with my friends. I stared at their luscious, feminine flowing locks in absolute envy and I immediately wanted my long locks back.
Don’t get me wrong; short hair has it perks, only ten minutes to blow dry? Can’t complain, but long curly hair has always been my signature look and I was really starting to regret cutting it!
So this is where Lush Hair Extensions came in and I fell in love….I can now have short hair for work in the week and long locks for those girlie nights out, ideal.
My aim was to achieve big, bouncy and voluminous curls for my Saturday night out.
I applied the 20” clip in Deluxe Quad Weft in #6 medium brown and for extra, extra, EXTRA volume, I also used pieces from the 18” deluxe double wefted clip in extensions in #6 medium brown.
I curled all of the hair pieces before applying as I thought it would be easier but I’m not sure what the usual process is? Do you curl before-hand or curl once they are applied girls?
I placed the curling tong on a medium heat, and I was really impressed with how well they curled.
Let me talk you through how I created the look.
I began by curling my actual hair with a curling tong. I wrapped my hair individually in sections of about one inch and curled pointing upwards.
I kept the curls quite loose with a medium heat, leaving the hair on the curler for about 3 seconds per strand. I then placed the majority of my hair in a top knot, leaving a very thin bottom section.
I then applied the 3 clip from the Deluxe Double Wefted Clip in’s quite low down on the back of my head; on level with my ear lobes. I then took down a layer of my hair from the top knot in order to hide the clips. The 3 clip could be applied even lower on the back of the head, it depends how long you would like your hair to be I’m guessing.
I then repeated this step with another 3 clip from the Deluxe double Wefted clip in’s; but this time applying a little higher on my head before again ensuring that the clips were not visible with another layer of my hair let loose from the top knot.
I absolutely love the quad weft. It’s definintly the easiest hair extension to apply as it is one big piece! My next move was clipping it above the previous 3 clip, before letting down some of my hair to again; hide those clips!
And lastly, for that extra volume I applied the 4 clip from the Deluxe Double wefted clip in’s at the top of the back of my head before letting the remainder of my hair loose.
For finishing touches; I brought some of my hair to my front, and curled a few stray strands so that they blended better.
The #6 medium brown was the perfect match for me; nobody believed me when I said that I was wearing hair extensions.
I have to admit though, I was a little hesitant to how they would stay in during my night out but I had no problems at all!
Since wearing them for the first time, I am completely converted.
I have found myself playing around with different hair looks and also using less hair pieces for a natural day look and I can’t see myself ever looking back!
